☆ Coyotes in Community ☆

As many of you know, from time to time, we have unusual wild animal sightings in the community.  Bears, panthers and coyotes are rarely seen in the community; this is a reminder to be aware that sometimes they have a presence without you knowing about it.  Most recently, on October 30 we received a video from a homeowner on Blackwater Place showing a couple of coyotes cruising through the community.  This is not the first time or the last for coyotes walking our streets.  Please click on the link below to watch the video.

Keep in mind, some of unsupervised pets may be in jeopardy,  We've had prior "disappearances" of cats before which is one of several reason to not let them roam freely throughout the community.

Please remember to avoid feeding wild animals including raccoons and feral cats.

The HOA owns almost 10 acres of green space of which a good portion is wetlands and as you might imagine the area is a haven for wild animals.  A partial list of animals spotted in the community include:

Panthers, Coyotes, Bobcats?
Raccoons, Opossums, Armadillos,
Sandhill Cranes, Whooping Cranes, Ducks, Hawks, Owls
River Otters, Water Moccasins, Alligators?

UPDATE for 08/15/2019: City of Longwood Police disclosed at the August 2019 Board meeting that they are receiving a lot of call about coyote sighting near and around our area.

UPDATE for 02/20/2020: Pack of four coyotes roaming down Citrus Tree Lane, between homes and backyards and running around on vacant lots.
